A Toast to 2023!
For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll drink a cup of kindness yet
For the sake of auld lang syne— Robert Burns
Goodbye to 2023! This was one of my most prolific and productive years so far.
This year I:
Took on my first role as producer/director of a professional short film. I cannot give out details until it broadcasts/streams this spring.
Was tenured at William Paterson University and promoted to Associate Professor of Animation and Game Design.
Started a new animated film: Sundays (Summer 2024)
Learned how to create a variety of pigments and natural inks for my film: Sundays!
Received two grants for Sundays: from the PANO network and from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at WPU.
Planted our most successful garden yet. We still have bags upon bags of frozen tomatoes, peppers and lemongrass in our freezer.
Finally started a book club among friends. I have been threatening to do this for years now.
Was accepted into William Paterson University's MFA in Creative and Professional Writing Program. I start Spring 2024!
Learned that a character design test made in July 2011 has become one of the most famous depictions of a lesser known cryptid: the squonk! Since then, my Etsy shop has exploded! And, my squonk enamel pins were featured in November's BratBox subscription!
Went on the trip of a lifetime with Ben. Our roadtrip started in Dallas TX and made its way through Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Wyoming and ended in Denver, Colorado.
Drove my 1958 corvette for the first time. My dad promised this car to me when I was very, very young. I wish he were here to see this milestone. But I am so glad that I was able to share it with Ben, my brother SIL and niece, and with my dad's long friend: Big Tom!
Adopted our new addition: The Goblin King!
I cannot wait to see what 2024 has in store!
Happy New Year!
